About Ainsley Wood

Ainsley Wood was born and raised in Amarillo, the largest city in the Texas panhandle. She received her first camera, and soon began her early career as a self-portraitist, and then expanded into photographing her friends and family. It wasn’t until her family uprooted their lives and moved to the Dallas metroplex, that she discovered her love of commercial photography. Ainsley is now based out of Portland, Oregon and lives with her animator husband and cats, Alma and Gaspard. She creates artwork with the purpose of storytelling by means of her understanding of people and the spaces they inhabit. Her scenes can be rather cinematic, as her interest and knowledge of film influences many of her sets. Ainsley believes in the marriage of fine art and commercial photography, and that remains prevalent in her work.
